CCSI Mapping and Strategy

We cooperate on a project of the Ministry of Culture mapping the cultural and creative sectors. We focus on strategic development of CCSI based on quality data.

Cultural and creative industries are characterized by their fragmentation into a large number of small entities. 95% of all actors are micro-entities with up to nine employees, mainly individuals. Given the rapid development of CCSI in recent years, their fragmentation and poor quality data at the national level, it is difficult to get a clear overview of the structure of this area. This subsequently limits the strategic development of KKO not only in Prague, but throughout the Czech Republic.

How is the mapping done?

The call by the Ministry of Culture aims to support the regional strategic development of the CCSI during the years 2023—2024. The first phase involves the analysis of the data obtained in cooperation of the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic and the Czech Statistical Office. Subsequently, a strategy for the development of cultural and creative sectors in Prague will be developed in a participatory manner. The aim is to anchor CCSI in the strategic framework of Prague and develop them in the context of business, innovation, sustainability, territorial development, foreign relations and tourism.
