Research of the Cultural Station Galaxie in Háje
The qualitative research project at Háje (Prague 11) aims to monitor, map and evaluate the impact of temporary placement of cultural infrastructure in a peripheral housing site of the city. The lessons learned from the pilot project can be an inspiration for other similar activities not only in the capital but also in other locations.
The research partner for field investigations at the site is STEM Institute of Empirical Studies. The research is carried out for the Department of Culture and Tourism of the City of Prague.
Galaxy Culture Station is a joint project of five cultural institutions (Dejvice Theatre, Minor, 4+4 days in motion, DanceConnected and DAMU), which understand the temporary move to Háje not only as a necessary operational solution for the reconstruction of the Dejvice Theatre, but also as an opportunity to try something new. Their leaders talk about the ambition to actively involve the local community, they want to link the existing program and the new creation to a specific site of the South Town housing estate.
