Galaxy Culture Station is a joint project of five cultural institutions (Dejvice Theatre, Minor, 4+4 days in motion, DanceConnected and DAMU), which understand the temporary move to Háje not only as a necessary operational solution for the reconstruction of the Dejvice Theatre, but also as an opportunity to try something new. Their leaders talk about the ambition to actively involve the local community, they want to link the existing program and the new creation to a specific site of the South Town housing estate. Our job is to see how their ambitions manage to be fulfilled and what this temporary project will bring to their site.
Read interim research report of the Galaxie Cultural Station. The research examines how a large multi-genre cultural center operates outside the city center, what impacts the local community, the audience and the cultural organizations involved, and offers the first insights that can be used for other similar projects in Prague and other cities.
The research partner for field investigations at the site is STEM Institute of Empirical Studies. The research is carried out for the Department of Culture and Tourism of the City of Prague.
