For political representatives and officials who are responsible for culture, community life and neighborhood relations, we offer a set of simple steps to support the development of culture and community life in their city district.

How does it work?

Cultural COMPASS forms five standards:

1. Knowledge (default assumption)
2. It's communication
3. Mediation
4. Supporting actors
5. Strategy

The guide names in more detail what can be achieved in these standards and what incremental steps the authority can take to do so to encourage the development of culture and community life.

What are the benefits?

• The cultural environment will be made clearer for all participants — city districts, actors and citizens.
• Barriers to the provision of necessary information, in particular on financial and non-financial support for local culture and contacts with responsible persons, will be reduced.
• The office opens up to local actors and thus saves time as a result.

We have already implemented concrete assistance with the implementation of the Cultural Compass in the urban areas of Prague 3, Prague 22 and Prague-Suchdol. The principles of the Cultural COMPASS are continuously consulted with Prague's districts which can use them in developing community life in the given locality.

This year, Kompas will be redesigned to best target support for the Municipal District in the area of ​​community culture.
