The spectrum of topics can range from cultural policy to audience development to the potential of art in urban development. We process the selected annual theme into an analysis and evaluate how it can be applied to the city's tools and thus achieve a positive change in the cultural environment.
The latest study, from 2025, focuses on cultural infrastructure in urban areas. It analyzes the ways in which urban districts provide cultural facilities, what legal and operational models they manage culture, and what are the advantages and limits of each approach. It is based on interviews with representatives and representatives of authorities and cultural organizations. The text is supplemented with a basic overview of the financing of culture in urban areas and the network of cultural infrastructure in Prague. The analysis is mainly intended for municipal authorities as a basis for decision-making and as inspiration for further development of culture in given neighborhoods and localities.
In 2024, we focused on a deeper analysis of the data already collected from the Cultural Behavior Survey, which was piloted within the project MapKa. We looked at this data through the lens of the set up scene and asked how it differs or what it is characterized by audiences, which regularly go to contributory organizations established by the City of Prague. The results will serve to better understand audience development within the Evaluart project.
In 2023, we were looking for examples of the development of public space with the help of culture and art. On the one hand, we were interested in inspiration from abroad in this area and on the other hand we tested the benefits and barriers of cooperation in this topic in a specific location in Prague 10. This is in the context of a case study of the school slap Solidarity. We apply the results of this study to our long-term project Pražské plaky.
Topic excellence is based on Cultural Policy (KP22+), where it says:”Prague, in cooperation with experts, will define the criteria of excellence and look for ways to recognize outstanding cultural achievements and support their further development.“Data Analytics 2022 brings a proposal to modify the Prague subsidy system so that excellence is strengthened in it. The report is forwarded to the Department of Culture with recommendations for gradual implementation into practice.
